Mothers Join In Protesting The Increase In Fuel Prices While Bringing Posts: "Jokowi Makes State Bankrupt"

JAKARTA - The heat of the sun on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, the Horse Statue area, Monas, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, has not dampened women's enthusiasm to voice public aspirations regarding the economic and social conditions that are being experienced by residents.

The protesters came from a number of elements of society. They held a demonstration against the increase in fuel prices. The alliance of people who are members of the National People's Defenders Movement (GNPR), consisting of the 212 Alumni Association (PA 212), the National Movement to Guard Fatwa Ulama (GNPF Ulama) and the Islamic Brotherhood Front (FPI), held a joint prayer or istighosah on the action.

Through the GNPR command car, he sang the holy verses of the Koran and prayed for God Almighty's help over the difficulties of the Indonesian people due to the increase in fuel prices.

Then, the GNPR protest participants sat together on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat praying along while attending the prayer reading from the loudspeaker. Not only praying, the action participants from the GNPR also sang shalawat in the midst of a demonstration against the increase in fuel prices.

Deputy Secretary General of PA 212 Novel Bamukmin revealed that at least three demands were made by the GNPR during a demonstration in the Horse Statue area.

"There are three main demands that we will convey, first lower the price of fuel," said Novel.

Furthermore, the mass action asked the government to lower the prices of basic commodities and demand that the government uphold the rule of law.
