Claressa Shields 'Si Floyd Mayweather Wanita' Admits Many People Want To See Him Lose When Against Marshall
JAKARTA United States boxer Claressa Shields, nicknamed Floyd Mayweather Wanita, said many people wanted him to lose against Marshall this weekend.
The 27-year-old boxer is scheduled to enter the ring on Sunday, September 11 at the O2 Arena, London, England. He will be risking an unbeaten record of 12-0 (2 KOs) against British boxer total Marshall.
This professional record of Claressa's has made her known as 'Floyd Mayweather Wanita'. However, she still has many other nicknames, including GWOAT' (Floyd Women of All Time), 'T-Rex' and 'The Wolf'.
Currently Claressa is the WBA middleweight champion, WBC, IBF, while Marshall is WBO middleweight champion.
The duel of the two best boxers in the 160-pound middleweight is to compete for four titles at once or the Unification of IBF World Middle, WBA World Middle, WBC World Middle, and WBO World Middle.
"I think people think I'm like the female version of Floyd Mayweather," said Claressa.
"They wanted to see me fight, but they also wanted to see an unbeaten person lose. The people they say are unbeaten. The people they say are arrogant, confident, they want to see the person lose," he added.
So far Marshall is the only boxer to ever beat Claressa in the ring. However, Claressa got the defeat when the two met in an amateur fight.
However, Claressa claims ahead of the game that she didn't even deserve to lose their previous fight.
"I feel like I'm not fighting against him, I'm fighting against the jury, I'm fighting against the referee. For me it's not a fair fight," boxer Claressa told Sky Sport.
"After the first time we fought, I felt like I had won. I knew that if I faced him again I would beat him," he added.
Claressa's opponent also has an amazing record so far, which is unbeaten in 12 professional matches. However, Marshall won 10 of the game by knockout.
