KPK Bringing The Regent Of Mimika Eltinus Omaleng From Jayapura To Jakarta Today
JAKARTA - Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng is now on his way to the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta today, Thursday, September 8. He was forcibly picked up for allegedly related to corruption in the construction of the Kingmi Mile 32 Church in Mimika Regency, Papua.
"This morning the Mimika Regent was taken from Jayapura to the KPK Red and White Building," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, September 8.
Eltinus, continued Ali, plans to immediately undergo an examination upon arrival at the KPK's Red and White Building. Investigators will explore their role in the alleged corruption in the construction of the church.
The KPK asked the public to be patient. Ali said all developments would be conveyed to the public.
"(The Mimika Regent, ed) will then undergo examination and the development of this case as soon as possible, we will inform you after that," he said.
Previously, Eltinus had submitted a pretrial to the South Jakarta District Court even though his legal status had not been announced by the KPK. However, the application was rejected by the panel of judges.
The alleged corruption in the Kingmi Mile Church 32 phase one fiscal year (TA) 2015 construction project in Mimika Regency, Papua has entered the investigation stage. The project is estimated to cost around Rp160 billion.
Apart from Eltinus, there is another suspect in that case. However, the KPK has not detailed further.
Pengumuman pihak terkait sekaligus status hukum mereka bersama konstruksi kasus akan disampaikan bersama dengan upaya paksa penahanan. Biasanya akan dilakukan dalam konferensi pers.
