JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said corruption should be considered an extraordinary crime. The perpetrators should not receive special treatment.This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, in response to his conditional release of 23 corruption convicts on Tuesday, September 6."Corruption in Indonesia which has been classified as an extraordinary crime should also be handled in extra ways," Ali said in a written statement, Wednesday, September 7.Ali reminded that prisons or prisons are places for prisoners to carry out coaching as well as law enforcement.With the execution of the perpetrators of corruption there, it is hoped that they can feel deterrent and will not repeat their actions."So in this series of law enforcement, there should be no special treatment that will actually hurt the spirit of law enforcement of corruption," he said.Previously, the Directorate General of PAS gave the rights in the form of parole to 23 prisoners such as Pinangki Sirna Malasari or Pinangki Prosecutor, former Banten Governor Ratu Atut Choisiyah, to former Jambi Governor Zumi Zola.The provision of conditional rights is based on Article 10 of the Correctional Law Number 22 of 2022.
