70 Percent More Than 216 Recalone Construction Units In Tanjungpinang Turned Out To Be Illegal
JAKARTA - The Tanjungpinang City Government, Riau Islands, has disciplined 190 out of 216 units of billboard construction which turned out to be illegal because they did not have a building permit (IMB).
Tanjungpinang Regional Secretary Zulhidayat, said the government had lost retribution from the IMB and also a billboard tax for about six months.
However, Zulhidayat does not yet know the value of the Tanjungpinang City Government's losses due to the loss of the IMB billboard and levy tax.
"There is a mayor's regulation that 2021 was ratified, then about six months ago it was socialized to some of the owners of the billboard construction. We don't know the identity of some illegal billboard owners," Zulhidayat said, Tuesday, September 6, quoted from Antara.
The problem with the construction of the billboards is not only limited to the IMB, but also the suitability of the location points, which must be studied for the impact. For example, the building does endanger the safety of pedestrians and road users or not.
"Including whether the building interferes with the power cable or not," he said.
According to him, the construction of the billboard board may be dismantled by the Tanjungpinang City Government if the building owner does not apply for a permit after the assessment process. The Tanjungpinang City Government has also formed an assessment team tasked with testing the location points, whether they comply with applicable regulations or not.
If the location is not feasible, a solution will be found to build in a predetermined location. Meanwhile, buildings that endanger the safety of road users must be rebuilt.
"This includes checking the condition of the building whether it is feasible or not. If it is not feasible, it must be dismantled," he said.
He emphasized that the Tanjungpinang City Government is not in a difficult position for people who want to build a business, including the billboard business. However, regulations regarding the IMB must be enforced so that the government is not blamed if problems arise in the future.
"If there was an inappropriate construction, then it collapsed, and there were victims, the government would be blamed for allowing buildings without an IMB to operate," he said.
