Pertalite Rises To Rp10,000 Per Liter, Chairman Of The Association Of Ojol Wait For Subsidy Proposal From Sri Mulyani
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Guard Online Ojek Drivers, Igun Wicaksono, responded to the government's decision to increase the price of subsidized fuel oil (BBM). According to him, the increase in Pertalite type fuel is very burdensome for the operational costs of online motorcycle taxi drivers.
"Obviously the increase in Pertalite type fuel will be very burdensome for the operational costs of online motorcycle taxi drivers throughout Indonesia," he told VOI.
The government officially adjusted the price of fuel oil (BBM) for Pertalite and Solar Subisidi types, on Saturday, September 3 afternoon. For a new price, the government priced Pertalite, which was previously Rp. 750 per liter, to Rp. 10,000 per liter, Solar Subsidy, which was previously Rp. 5,150 per liter, rose to Rp. 6,800 per liter.
For this reason, his party is currently waiting for a signal from the government to provide subsidies to online motorcycle taxi drivers. "We are waiting for a signal from the government which a while ago through the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani announced that ojol drivers will receive Pertalite type fuel subsidies," he added. However, until now, continued Igun, his party has not received any information regarding the form of subsidies and the amount of subsidies to be given.
In his speech at the press conference announcing the online adjustment of fuel prices, President Joko Widodo revealed that he had given orders to local governments to use two percent of public transfer funds of Rp. 2.17 trillion for public transportation assistance, online motorcycle taxi assistance and for fishermen.
"I have also ordered local governments to use two percent of public transfer funds of IDR 2.17 trillion for public transportation assistance, online motorcycle taxi assistance and for fishermen. The government is committed to using subsidies which are people's money, they must be right on target. Subsidies must be more profitable to the underprivileged," he said.
The government has officially increased the price of subsidized fuel starting today, Saturday, September 3. The increase in fuel prices is valid for an hour from the announcement.
"Today, September 3, 2022, at 13.30 WIB, the government decided to adjust the price of subsidized fuel to Rp. 7,650 per liter to Rp. 10,000 per liter and diesel from Rp. 5,150 per liter to Rp. 6,800 per liter., Pertamax from Rp. 12,500 to Rp. 14,500 per liter," said ESDM Minister Arifin Tasrif at a press conference with President Jokowi and Minister Regarding the Transfer of Subsidy to Fuel, Merdeka Palace, Saturday, September 3.
