Yogyakarta KPU Comb Data Sipol Check Membership Of Maximum Party Cadres 17 Years

YOGYAKARTA - The General Elections Commission (KPU) of Yogyakarta City has begun to block the membership data of each political party (political party) which is declared to meet registration requirements as the first step in implementing administrative verification.

"There are several things that we are watching, such as the minimum age, work, and whether there is double membership data in other political parties," said Yogyakarta City General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Erizal in Yogyakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday, September 2.

Based on the rules, he said, the minimum age of residents can become members of a political party for a maximum of 17 years. However, it could be under 17 years if you are married.

If there are findings that the age of members of political parties is still under 17 years old, he explained, the party needs to submit a statement stating that the name is still valid as a member of a political party.

"You can convey information that the name of the person concerned is married," he said.

Likewise, there are members of political parties who are still listed as active as TNI, police or state civil servants and other jobs that are prohibited from entering as members of political parties, he said.

"There must be a statement submitted by the political party concerned by explaining that the name of the member is no longer active as the TNI, police, or state civil apparatus," he said.

If there is a dual membership in more than one political party, he continued, then there must be a statement letter from the member concerned to choose membership in the political party according to his wishes.

The collection of membership data for the political party will be carried out until the beginning of next week and findings will be submitted to the DIY KPU to be forwarded to the KPU.

"Furthermore, political parties can improve the results of administrative verification until October 12, 2022, then factual verification will be carried out," he said.

All political parties whose registration files are declared complete and accepted by the KPU, as many as 24 political parties, and have representatives in DIY.
