KPK Wait For The AGO's Green Light Check Surya Darmadi
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is waiting for the green light from the Attorney General's Office to examine the boss of PT Duta Palma Group Surya Darmadi. These two institutions are indeed coordinating to investigate the case that ensnared the entrepreneur.
"So far, we are still waiting for the schedule for the examination from the Attorney General's Office," said KPK's spokesman for prosecution, Ali Fikri, in a written statement, Tuesday, August 30.
Ali revealed that his party had written to the Adhyaksa Corps to examine Surya. This step is a form of synergy between law enforcers in investigating allegations of presumptuous practices.
"As a form of synergy, of course, we will coordinate the settlement of cases with the suspect SD (Surya Darmadi) according to the authority of the Attorney General's Office," said Ali.
Previously, the KPK planned to examine Surya Darmadi on Friday, August 19. However, he was hospitalized due to a decline in health on Thursday, August 18 until he finally had to undergo treatment at the hospital.
Surya Darmadi is a suspect in the alleged corruption of money laundering and the confiscation of oil palm land covering an area of 37,095 hectares in Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau. He was named along with other suspects, Raja Thamsir Rahman, who is the former Regent of Indragiri Hulu.
Meanwhile at the KPK, Surya Darmadi has been named a suspect since three years ago. This determination was made after investigators developed the case that ensnared former Riau Governor Annas Maamun.
