Geneva-Paris Flights, Air France's Pilot And Co-Pilot Fight In The Cockpit Instead

JAKARTA - Air France passengers on the Geneva-Paris route last June may not know what happened in the cockpit of the plane. Air France pilot and co-pilot turned out to be fighting.

Quoted from Al Jazeera, Monday, August 29, fortunately, there was no effect from the commotion. The flight continued and was able to land safely.

The dispute did not affect the rest of the flight because they were still committed to safety.

In the aftermath, Air France finally suspended their crew members.

According to a report by the French La Tribune daily, pilots and co-pilot clashed shortly after takeoff. They gripped each other's collar after one appeared to hit another.

The cabin crew then intervened and one crew member spent the flight in the cockpit with the pilot, the report said.

News of the fight emerged after France's air investigation agency, the BEA, issued a report on Wednesday, August 24 saying several Air France pilots were less thorough in respecting safety protocols.

The airline noted that it flies thousands of flights daily and the report only mentions four such safety incidents.

Air France's union pilots insist that security is the most important for all pilots and defend pilot action during an emergency situation.
