Max And Jeanny Music School Warehouse In Rawamangn Burns, Losses Estimated To Reach Billions

JAKARTA - The warehouse for Max and Jeanny's music school on Jalan Sunan Sedayu, District Rawamangun, East Jakarta has been engulfed in flames.

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat) officers managed to extinguish the blaze by deploying a number of fire engines to the location.

"The object that burned was a musical instrument shop and a music school," said East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Operations Section Head Gatot Sulaeman in his statement, Monday, August 29.

A total of 17 fire engines and 85 personnel were dispatched to the location to extinguish the fire. Gatot explained that the fire came from a musical instrument warehouse.

The staff or shop staff saw the smoke getting thicker and thicker.

"Then he came out of the barn door. There was a fire that was getting bigger," he said.

The blackout process started at 08.37 WIB. The fire was extinguished two hours later.

"The loss is estimated at up to Rp 5 billion," said Gatot.
