Pertamina Hulu Mahakam Streams Initial Gas From The WPN-4 Platform

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) with the support of SKK Migas and PT Pertamina Hulu Indonesia (PHI) as the parent company, carried out the initial gas flow from the WPN-4 Platform which is part of the Jumelai North Sisi and North Nubi (JSN) Project on August 17, 2022, coinciding with the 77th Birthday of the Republic of Indonesia.

This inaugural gas flow from the WPN-4 platform marks the start of additional gas production for the JSN Project from the NB-403 well of 10 MMSCFD. The WPN-4 platform is part of the JSN Project in accordance with the 2018 North Sisi North Nubi Field POD. The WPN-4 platform has a design production capacity of up to 45 MMSCFD.

PHM General Manager Krisna in a written statement received in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Thursday said that the inaugural stream from the WPN-4 Pavilion was a special gift from PHM to the Indonesian people on the anniversary of independence.

"The first gas production from the WPN-4 Platform will automatically increase PHM gas production and increase energy supply for Indonesia. We are also carrying out work on the second well, namely the NB-404 well as a strategic step for the Company to continue to increase gas production produced by PHM," explained Krisna as quoted by Antara on Friday, August 26.

Krisna added, the company continues to invest in exploration and development of oil and gas fields to find new resources and increase reserves that are important for national energy security.

"The operation plan for the three platforms of the JSN Project is expected to be able to produce 135 MMSCFD of gas and support oil and gas production from the Mahakam WK by 20 percent by 2024," he concluded.

PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM) is a subsidiary of PHI that runs upstream oil and gas operations and business in accordance with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles in the Mahakam Working Area in East Kalimantan.
