Deputy Governor Riza Patria Says Weather Factors Trigger Egg Price Increases In DKI Jakarta
JAKARTA - The price of eggs in a number of areas, including Jakarta, has increased. The Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta said that the current high price of eggs was caused by weather factors.
"Indeed, right now it is about food, because of the weather and other factors, prices fluctuate," said Riza at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Wednesday, August 24.
However, Riza believes that the government, both central and local governments, can make efforts to stabilize egg prices.
This former member of the DPR RI ensures that his staff will look for various solutions so that the increase in egg prices can be controlled and their availability is maintained for public consumption.
"God willing, we will try to find the best solution so that all food needs are not only available, but the number of needs and affordable prices," he said.
For information, the price of one of the basic commodities, namely broiler eggs, has increased in many areas.
Viewed on the infopangan.jakarta.go.id website, the price of chicken eggs in the Jakarta market currently reaches Rp. 31,065 per kilogram.
Ati, a trader at Kramat Jati Market, said that the price increase had occurred in the past week. He said the price increase was due to a lack of supply from livestock.
"Many consumers complain why the price is so expensive," said Ati, Tuesday, August 23.
Ati added that the increase in the price of chicken eggs had an effect on the sales turnover it received.
Two weeks earlier, the price of chicken eggs at Kramat Jati Market was still in the range of Rp. 28,000 per kilogram, but last week it rose 7 percent to Rp. 30,000, and now it is Rp. 31,000 per kilogram.
Ati admitted that he experienced a decrease in sales turnover of up to 25 percent compared to the previous time when the price of chicken eggs was still normal, which was in the range of Rp. 25 thousand.
"Yes, hopefully the price will drop soon so that consumers can buy again," said Ati.
