Bantul Regency Government Expects The Job Market To Make The Region Zero Unemployment
JAKARTA - The Manpower and Transmigration Office of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, has included 46 companies in a job fair or job fair which will be held virtually on August 22 to 24, 2022.
"In this job fair, we include 46 companies, both operating in Bantul and outside Bantul, 11 companies operating in Bantul, 35 outside Bantul," said Bantul Regent Abdul Halim Muslih after the opening of the Bantul job fair in Bantul, DIY, quoted from Antara, Monday 22 August.
He said the total positions needed in the job fair were 298 positions, with a total of 5,964 job vacancies. For the time being, there are 2,436 job seekers who have registered on the account.
"There are currently 3,903 people who have applied for jobs, thus one applicant or job seeker may apply for several types of job vacancies at different companies," he said.
The Regent said, while for the workforce with disabilities in the job fair, 100 vacancies were provided, but they had to go through a selection made by the company in order to match the required qualifications.
"Because based on laws and regulations, including the law on manpower, that companies employing more than 100 people are required to recruit one percent of employees with disabilities," he said.
Therefore, the Regent of Bantul invites the workforce in Bantul, including those with disabilities, to take advantage of the virtual job market for the next three days which aims to suppress and reduce the unemployment rate in Bantul.
"That way the welfare rate will increase, the poverty rate will decrease, so that all residents in Bantul we hope that all of them can work, no one is unemployed, no one is poor through one of these labor absorption markets," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bantul Manpower and Transmigration Office, Istirul Widilastuti, said that the purpose of this virtual job fair was to create job opportunities for job seekers, and to provide employment for companies, as well as to accelerate job placement to reduce unemployment.
Meanwhile, the aim is to facilitate job seekers to get jobs according to their education, skills, talents and interests, to help companies to get qualified, professional workers according to the required qualifications.
"And knowing the trend of the level, gender, and age group of job seekers and the types and job vacancies available, as material for planning in the field of placement and training," he said.
