Medan Floods Make Road Traffic 'Paralyzed'
MEDAN - Floods caused traffic jams in several parts of the road in Medan City, North Sumatra Province, until this afternoon.
Traffic jams occur because there are vehicles that break down when passing through a flooded road as high as 40 to 50 cm. In addition, motorists must also slow down the speed of the vehicle when passing through puddles on the road.
Reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 18, motorists whose vehicle broke down while passing through the flood had to push the vehicle to the part of the road that was not flooded.
On Jalan Dr. Mansyur, Medan Selayang Subdistrict, police officers have implemented an open and closed system to reduce vehicle traffic jams.
In addition to hitting parts of the Medan Selayang District, the flood also covered parts of the Medan Maimun District, Medan Sunggal District, Medan Johor District, and Medan Baru District.
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Medan City is still recording the impact of flooding in the area.
