Commission I Of The DPR Supports TNI Investigating The Shooting Of Cats At Sesko TNI Bandung
BANDUNG - A viral video containing cats died as a result of being shot at in the Sesko TNI area, Jalan RAA Martanegara, Bandung, West Java (West Java). House of Representatives Commission I member Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi asked that the mistreatment of the cat be investigated.
He emphasized that the threat of criminal punishment could be imposed on the mistreatment of cats by firing at them.
"Agreed to be investigated because there is indeed a law, namely Article 302 of the Criminal Code and Article 66 of Law 41/2014 Amendment to Law 18/2009 concerning Animal Husbandry and Health, and PP 95 of 2012 concerning Veterinary Public Welfare and Animal Welfare. cat or dog, there is a threat of imprisonment and administrative sanctions," Bobby told reporters, Thursday, August 18.
Bobby hopes that the TNI will consider criminal charges if the perpetrators of animal abuse are known. The DPR member from the Golkar faction does not want the same case to happen again.
"This should be considered in policy in the military realm, if the perpetrators have been tracked down and so that it does not happen again in the future," he said.
According to Bobby, the legal norm regarding animal abuse is in the civil realm. However, he said, the TNI also needed wisdom to consider it.
"In the general public there are legal norms above, but in the military realm it seems there is no such norm, so it's just a policy," he said.
"TNI members are active in military courts, in article 1 (13) of the TNI law, who commit criminal acts are tried in military courts," he continued.
Previously, one of the abandoned animal shelters uploaded a video of a number of cat carcasses in a pathetic condition on their Instagram account. The uploader also includes a statement that the cats died because they were shot in the Sesko TNI area, Bandung, West Java. Responding to the video that went viral, TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa said his party would conduct a search to find out the truth of the information.
"I am investigating now. I have ordered the legal team to investigate the news above," said Andika.
