The Government Makes Sure To Provide Assistance For 11 Pilgrims Still Being Treated In Saudi Arabia

JAKARTA - The Indonesian government has confirmed that it will provide assistance to 11 pilgrims who are sick and still being treated in Saudi Arabia through the Jeddah Hajj Affairs Office until they can be returned to the country.

"The government ensures that all costs for sick pilgrims are guaranteed by the Indonesian government," said Head of the Public Relations, Data and Information Bureau of the Ministry of Religion, Akhmad Fauzin, at a press conference to organize the hajj in Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Saturday, August 13.

Akhmad said the 11 sick pilgrims were 10 of them being treated at the Saudi Arabian Hospital and one was being treated at the Indonesian Health Clinic.

Families can follow the development of the health of the sick congregation through the offices of the Ministry of Religion of the city/regency as well as the respective Provincial Offices.

"Let's pray together so that the sick congregation will be given a speedy recovery and immediately returned to their respective domiciles," he said.

In addition, there are 92,154 pilgrims who have arrived in Indonesia. On Saturday, the last three flying groups will be repatriated to the two debarkations, namely Balikpapan and Solo, as many as 830 people.

In detail, Balikpapan (BPN) one group flew with a total of 110 congregations and officers and Solo (SOC) two groups flew with a total of 720 pilgrims and officers.

In addition to the pilgrims who were treated, there were 89 pilgrims who were declared dead in the Holy Land. With details, 27 died during the pre Armuzna period (Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina) spanning June 4-7 July 2022, 16 pilgrims died during the Armuzna period on July 8-12 2022. While 46 other pilgrims were declared dead during the period after the peak of the Armuzna pilgrimage , July 13 until now.
