PPSU Officers Hand In Overcoming Floods In Tanjung Barat
JAKARTA - The Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officer (PPSU) handled the flooding that inundated the Tanjung Barat area, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, Friday night.
"PPSU members are still there carrying out the handling. It has started to recede up to 10 centimeters," said Jagakarsa Sub-district Head, Santoso, quoting Antara, Friday, August 12.
Santoso said that he had deployed a PPSU team of seven personnel, followed by the Department of Transportation to deal with flooding.
Meanwhile, the flood in the Tanjung Barat area reached 30 cm at several inundation points starting at 19.30 to 19.52 WIB and began to recede until the inundation height was 10 cm.
According to Santoso, the flood had caused traffic jams in the Tanjung Barat area because it coincided with the employee's return time from work.
The congestion is getting worse because many people want to go home immediately before the weekend break, he said.
It was mentioned that the handling carried out by his party at the location to reduce flood inundation was by cleaning the water lines.
Santoso explained that the water lines are holes in the highway part of the road infrastructure for disposing of water.
Usually, when the water is flooded, the water lines are full of garbage, causing them to become clogged and unable to drain water into the sewer, said Santoso.
"It sometimes gets clogged because of sand or because there is garbage, it is being handled," he said.
