LinkedIn Adds New Tool That Lets Users Add Links To Posted Photos And Videos

JAKARTA - LinkedIn announced on Thursday, August 11, that it is launching a new feature designed to make it easier for users to share visual content.

“We want to make it easier to create visual content that helps you stand out and inspire your professional community,” said Keren Baruch, Product Lead for Content Creator Strategy at LinkedIn, Angel Investor in a LinkedIn post.

Baruch says, in the coming weeks, LinkedIn users will be able to add clickable links directly to your images or videos.

These links are useful for directing audiences to your website, upcoming events, latest newsletters, or other resources as well.

The way it works is almost similar to the link in Instagram stories. First, click create new post from mobile device in the form of image or video > tap "Add link" icon > add URL > if you want, enter custom text for your link > then Post your image/video.

The next feature is to create quick posts using Templates. Just like other social media applications, LinkedIn also provides templates that you can add text to.

The trick is, tap "Post" on your phone > tap "Use template". From there, you can easily create visually appealing content for your audience.

Besides being able to change the template according to your wishes, you can also choose the type of font you want to use. When you're done selecting, press "Share."

You can even add a clickable link to the template to encourage your audience to take action.

Not stopping there, LinkedIn also launched "Carousels". This is a new content format that allows you to combine images and videos when presenting information to your audience in a sliding format.

Unlike the previous two features, LinkedIn says that users will be able to view the carousel in Feed starting today. The company plans to revamp the feature and release it more widely by the end of this year.
