Reported To MKD For Considering Defense Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, Bambang Soesatyo: Learn More, We Are A State Of Law

JAKARTA - Chairman of the MPR Bambang Soesatyo asked the party who reported himself to the Honorary Court of the Council (MKD) to study law.

"Tell them to study (law) again. We are a state of law and the legal principles we adhere to are equality before the law and the principle of presumption of innocence," said Bambang Soesatyo, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 9.

Bambang said this was related to a group of people who claimed to be the DPP Defenders of the United Indonesia Homeland (PEKAT IB) reported him to the MKD regarding alleged ethical violations because they were considered to be defending Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.

Bambang said that the court has the right to decide whether someone is guilty or not. According to him, the public should not be the judge who judges someone without evidence and legal facts in court.

"We are waiting for the ongoing process. Let the law work," he said.

Bambang Soesatyo explained that even someone who has been declared a suspect cannot be convicted because there is still room for self-defense with legal evidence in the court room.
