Just Left Prison In 2021, Youth In Singkawang Are Desperate To Distribute Methamphetamine And Marijuana
SINGKAWANG - The Singkawang Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, West Kalimantan arrested a young man with the initials AR alias RO for allegedly being a drug dealer of methamphetamine and marijuana types in the East Singkawang area, Singkawang City.
"We managed to capture AR alias RO from a house with its address at Jalan Sahwa, Bagak Sahwa Village, East Singkawang District," said Singkawang Deputy Chief of Police, Commissioner Raden Mahendra, Antara, Monday, August 1.
At the time of the arrest, AR alias RO was in the yard at that time. Subsequently, a search was carried out and found evidence of suspected shabu as many as three plastic clip bags weighing 20.86 grams and 13 packages of marijuana clip plastic bags weighing 10.72 grams.
"In addition, we also secured other evidence such as papyrus, cash in the amount of Rp. 550 thousand which was allegedly the result of the sale of the illicit goods, as well as a pipette spoon and a shabu suction device," he said.
Based on the results of the investigation, the suspect is known to be a recidivist in a similar case that was only released from prison in 2021.
"After being released, it turns out that the person concerned is still doing the same thing, namely distributing narcotics in the East Singkawang area for 8 months," he said.
For his actions, the suspect will be subject to Articles 112 and 114 paragraph 2 of the Narcotics Law with a minimum penalty of 6 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison.
"The suspect will also be subject to Article 111 paragraph 1 for possession of marijuana with a minimum threat of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years in prison," he said.
According to the suspect's confession, he bought the illicit goods from someone in Pontianak.
Meanwhile, the suspect AR alias RO admitted that the proceeds from selling narcotics were used for daily needs. "Besides opening a workshop, I am also selling drugs," he said.
