Youth Recipients Of Booster Vaccinations In Bandung Are Still 4.27 Percent, West Java Provincial Government Will Be Excited During The 2022 BIAN Campaign
BANDUNG - The West Java Provincial Government seeks to accelerate the increase in coverage of the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination or booster vaccination for adolescents by organizing mass vaccination services in early August 2022. This vaccination moment coincides with the 2022 National Immunization Month (BIAN) campaign.
Head of the West Java COVID-19 Vaccination Acceleration Division, Dedi Supandi, said that the COVID-19 vaccination service for teenagers was planned to be carried out in schools along with immunization services during the 2022 BIAN.
The number of teenagers who have received booster vaccination is only 207,758 people or 4.27 percent of the total 4,867,047 teenagers who were targeted for COVID-19 vaccination in West Java.
"For the first dose (vaccination) for teenagers, it has reached 4,603,093 people or 94.58 percent (of the target), while the second dose (vaccination includes) 4,120,352 people or 84.66 percent (of the target). The third dose should be further increased," said Dedi in Bandung, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, July 26.
The rate of increase in booster vaccination coverage is expected to be faster after the government makes booster vaccination part of the requirements for travel and activities in public places.
"The journey starts from flights, trains, they are required to have booster vaccines. It even includes swimming exercises and so on, we all require booster vaccines," he said.
