Mr. Wali, Access To JLLT Medayu Utara Surabaya Is Broken!

JAKARTA - Access to the East Outer Ring Road (JLLT) on Jalan Raya Medayu Utara, Medokan Ayu, Rungkut District, Surabaya City, East Java, is damaged because paving has not been installed.

"Residents' complaints are not only residents of settlements, but also pond farmers who use the road," said the Coordinator of the Community Information Group (KIM) for East Surabaya Region Mikhael Markus in Surabaya, Sunday, July 24.

In addition to Jalan Raya Medayu Utara which is the access to JLLT, he continued, a number of important buildings will also be built on this road, such as the School of Health Sciences (Stikes) Foundation of Dr. Hospital. Soetomo, Al Uswah Integrated Islamic High School (SMA IT), housing PT. YEKAPE and others.

According to Markus, development in the Medokan Ayu area is currently moving, but on a small scale, such as paving the streets of small alleys.

Meanwhile, he continued, for Jalan Raya Medayu Utara itself, which is the access for thousands of residents, there is still no paving yet even though it has been repeatedly surveyed by the relevant Surabaya City Government Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).

"Currently, only PJU poles (public road lighting) have been installed on the North Medayu Highway to the end. It was only installed a few months ago," he said as quoted by Antara.

Residents hope that the road, which is located on the border of Medokan Ayu Village and Wonorejo Village, Rungkut District, will soon be realized so that it enters residential areas.

"This is so that the economic improvement program will also increase from before with proper road access for the benefit of the community," he said.

Member of Commission A for Government Affairs of the Surabaya City DPRD, Arif Fathoni, said that the North Medayu Highway is important as access to the JLLT which will be built later. Moreover, many residents who live in local housing also pass on that road.

"We hope that the city government will immediately follow up on these residents' complaints. We will continue to fight for it until it is realized," said Cak Toni, who is also known as Arif Fathoni, who is a council member from the local Electoral District (Dapil 3).

The Deputy Chairman of Commission C for the Development of the Surabaya DPRD, Aning Rahmawati, said the same thing. As a member of the council who is also in Dapil 3, he has the duty to continue to oversee the construction of roads in the Medokan Ayu area.
