Included In The Row Of Five Provinces With The Largest Investment Value, Riau Successfully Absorbs 32.385 Workers
JAKARTA - The Riau Provincial Government became the province with the fifth largest investment value in the January-June 2022 period. In this period, Riau recorded an investment realization of IDR 44.4 trillion, up 92.4 percent from the same period in 2021 which reached IDR 23.1 trillion.
Based on data from the Ministry of Investment / Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the five provinces with the highest investment were West Java Province with an investment value of IDR 83.5 trillion. Followed by DKI Jakarta at IDR 80.5 trillion, East Java to IDR 53.5 trillion, Central Sulawesi to IDR 52.1 trillion, and Riau with a value of IDR 44.4 trillion.
Based on that note, Riau also produced employment absorption of 32.385 people.
"Alhamdulillah, our investment is able to absorb as many as 32.385 workers and 22 foreign workers (TKA) while of course still providing easy services and regulations to support increased investment in Riau," said Riau Governor Syamsuar, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 21.
He said the absorption of that much workforce is engaged in the paper and printing industries, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, electricity, gas and water, food industries, food crops, plantations and livestock, housing, industrial and office areas.

In addition, the trade and repair sector, non-metallic mineral industry, warehouse transportation and telecommunications, construction, hotels and restaurants, textile industry, rubber and plastic industry, mining, metal goods industry, machinery and electronics, motor vehicle industry, industrial goods from leather and footwear and others.
The investment realization target for 2022 given by BKPM RI to the Riau Provincial Government is IDR 60.46 trillion (5.04 percent of the national portion) and in the second quarter (April-June) 2022, Riau Province has reached IDR 20.7 trillion (137.1 percent) for the quarterly target. Meanwhile, from January to June 2022, it has reached IDR 44.4 trillion (73.4 percent) against the annual target.
