Exclusive Montserrat Gizelle Steady Pursuing An Acting Career After Parents' Approval

JAKARTA - Montserrat Gizelle's age may be young, 14 years old. However, this girl who was born on September 3, 2008 made her acting debut by starring in the soap opera Kun Anta in 2018.

His name became known since starring in the soap opera Dari Junior High School in 2021. Even though he was still a teenager, Montserrat was convinced that acting was the way of life he wanted.

"So I started filming at the age of 9. My first filming for the soap opera Kun Anta was 2018. I've been interested in acting for a long time, actually, I only started being brave at the age of 8," he said during a visit to the VOI office some time ago.

Montserrat who is still a child certainly can not immediately get the trust of his parents. School remains a top priority for him.

"I just got brave, it was only around the age of 8 that I told my parents. Like I wanted to try to enter the entertainment world where at first they didn't support them, they went to school like that, but in the end, they became this," he recalls.

It takes more effort to get permission to try acting for the first time. "I said one day I would make you proud with a film. Then they believed they could try it," he said.

To show his seriousness, Montserrat had time to make an acting video. The little girl is self-taught through YouTube.

"It's like recording myself, I'm acting like that. Then I show them that. I also had time to look at videos on YouTube like acting lessons," he explained.

He realized that his efforts had not been maximized, but his footsteps made him proud. The rejections experienced did not make him give up.

"8 years is still a child, so sometimes I don't really understand the world like this. The world is actually very wide, so when I was 8 years old I still couldn't respond to rejection well, so if I was rejected, I still like to breakdown. well, for sure don't give up and we have to believe in ourselves. We have to believe that there are still many opportunities out there," he said.

Belief in acting talent is proven by acting that has never stopped since debut. Not only soap operas, he has starred in 11 FTV titles. The big screen is also included in his filmography through his debut Before the Devil Picks Up 2 in 2020.

Indeed, his role was a small nameless role. However, finally Montserrat got a significant role in the film The Doll 3 as Micah.

The spirit of unyielding and constantly trying to make it successful in getting various roles. "From the first soap opera Kun Anta to FTV-FTV. Finally I tried casting for the film, after that I got one, casting again finally got The Doll 3," he said.

This was an achievement he had dreamed of, but he didn't want to be satisfied. "Actually, this is my dream from the beginning, so I just want to develop it. There are still many things that we haven't tried yet. And maybe we haven't got a mate yet," he explained.

Not just acting, Montserrat Gizelle made his debut as a singer in 2021 by releasing his first single titled Dunia Mimpi. The totality of his career demands his study time.

The obligation to study cannot be ignored, while the willingness to act cannot be underestimated either. That's why Montserrat chose home schooling.

"Actually, school is disturbed, it's disturbing, so now I'm homeschooling," he explained.

As if mature beyond age, Montserrat realized it was a risk to be taken. "Because it's already been done and this has been my desire since childhood, so like it or not, we have to be ready to take risks. Yes, there are risks," he said. Try All Opportunities

After getting the blessing of parents, Montserrat Gizelle's career seemed unstoppable. He got many opportunities. Hard work never betrays the results so he feels proud.

"What is certain is that there may be a sense of pride, yes, I'm happy that after all that I have sacrificed, I can make it," he explained.

His parents now even encourage him to try various things in the entertainment world. "Actually, since I was little, I was interested in playing movies, but at that time, my mother said, "Do you want to try singing?" he said.

"Then mom said that if you could in the entertainment world, don't just play movies but also sing but also do other things, modeling too," he continued.

The pandemic has delayed his dream. Because Montserrat had to wait 3 years to see The Doll 3 in theaters.

"My first film was in 2019. So actually the FTV and PH productions of this film were the same, so when I did the casting, I joined and accepted. In 2019 I was offered to play The Doll 3. The broadcast was delayed due to the pandemic," he said.

It's not just education that has to be sacrificed for an acting career from a young age. Friendship and playtime must be sacrificed too. Yet Montserrat likes to be the center of attention.

"Yes, actually since I was little I like to be the center of attention. I like to see my idol on TV and want to share the same title with him," he said.

Unfortunately, when he was 8 years old, he felt he had no friends. Instead of being sad, he actually made it his motivation to learn acting.

"I was shunned. I don't have friends. I think in the entertainment world I can meet new people, I can get to know many people. So maybe that's the reason I went into acting," he explained.

"Even though I was stressed because I was tired of being told, but deep down I felt like I just wanted to give up. That's what made me get up again," added Montserrat.

Because he had the intention to enter the world of acting, the way was opened. Once given the opportunity, Montserrat absorbs knowledge from more senior actors.

"We met the seniors, they were taught by them too, so from all the titles I got knowledge," he said.

Just as teenagers think, Montserrat doesn't think much about work or income. Even for him, filming is a play area.

"Actually it depends on the person. If you have a work mindset, that's fine, but in the world it's not all about work. We play when we shoot, especially if we play with people of the same age. Education is important so it must be developed. asked for permission and luckily it was allowed," he said.

Montserrat Gizelle is determined to develop his acting through more films, FTV, soap operas. "The point is to develop and succeed from now on," he said.

So what makes him confident and confident? "Parents are important because they are my heroes without my support, I don't think I am who I am now," he said.

"At first they were nervous, then they were able to enter the casting room, maybe because they were nervous, they finally left. They reach out occasionally and ask how your film is," added Montserrat Gizelle.

Not wanting to be instant, Montserrat Gizelle still wants to learn. Casting will also be undertaken for a more glorious career ahead.

"Next project that I really want to play in a film. This year I'm casting in several other places. Hopefully this year I can get another film," he hoped.
