Before The 'Diplomacy' Of Casual Bikes With The Secretary General Of PAN, Hasto Apparently Asked For Permission First To Megawati And Zulhas

JAKARTA - The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto recently rode with the Secretary General of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Eddy Soeparno.

Hasto admitted that he had asked PDIP General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri for permission first and PAN Chairperson Zulkifli Hasan alias Zulhas before undertaking the "diplomacy" on the leisurely bike. Gowes together was held on Friday, July 15.

"I gave permission to Mr. Zul to deliver a meeting with Mr. Secretary General of PAN and then I reported to Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri," Hasto told reporters through an online press conference, Thursday, July 21.

Not only exercising together, Hasto said, but also discussing many things. Because they haven't seen each other in a long time.

Consolidation of democracy was also discussed. However, there is no talk of cooperation or coalition for the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Hasto and Eddy discussed more about cooperation in improving the quality of democracy. "Regarding the cooperation of political parties, we are not talking within the framework of the 2024 presidential election, but the cooperation of political parties in the context of improving the quality of democracy," he stressed.

As for cooperation in the 2024 presidential election, Hasto said the decision was in the hands of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. Not only that, the party bearing the bull symbol respects PAN's move to join the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB).

KIB is a coalition consisting of three parties, namely the Golkar Party, the United Development Party (PPP), and the National Mandate Party (PAN).

"Regarding the cooperation of political parties, because that is the domain of the general chairman, we do not discuss it. And we respect whatever is done by PAN," said Hasto.

Previously, Eddy and Hasto cycled together on a ride together on Friday morning, July 15. The two of them rode bicycles in the Menteng area, Jakarta to Jalan Sudirman around the MPR/DPR Building until they turned to the Bank Indonesia Building.

After cycling, the two figures agreed to chat again at the next opportunity. However, the schedule for the follow-up meeting has not yet been announced.
