Bambang Widjojanto Leaves TGUPP DKI, PDIP: Gentleman!
JAKARTA - Bambang Widjojanto has resigned from his position as a member of the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) of DKI Jakarta. Bambang previously served as Head of the DKI TGUPP Corruption Prevention Team.
Bambang resigned because he served as a lawyer who accompanied the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu Mardani Maming in the pretrial hearing of the corruption case. In response, Gembong Warsono, chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, appreciated this.
"If he resigns permanently, I think this is a positive step. The gentleman," said Gembong when contacted by VOI, Thursday, July 21.
Gembong considered that it was better for Bambang to resign as a member of the DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan's "whisper" team. Because, he continued, Bambang would not focus on carrying out his duties while holding concurrent positions.
"I appreciate that he took a really professional position. Because if he stays at TGUPP, he will become unfocused and half-hearted," said Gembong.

Furthermore, Gembong predicts that Bambang will leave the DKI TGUPP because he is under pressure from the public. "Bambang Widjojanto today could not stand public pressure. The public pressure was so great, so in the end, he resigned," he continued.
Previously, Bambang Widjojanto admitted that he had resigned as a member of the DKI Jakarta TGUPP. Bambang admitted that his decision to withdraw from Anies' special team was to avoid conflicts of interest that could potentially arise from the case he was handling.
"I should not be active and step down to focus more on pretrial and minimize potential conflicts of interest," said Bambang.
For information, Mardani Maming filed a pretrial application after he was named a suspect for alleged bribery and gratification in Tanah Bumbu Regency, South Kalimantan.
The General Treasurer of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board appointed members of the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) DKI Jakarta Bambang Widjojanto and former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Denny Indrayana as legal counsel.
