South And East Jakarta Are Predicted Having Heavy Rain With Lightning

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) warned residents to be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in South Jakarta and East Jakarta on Monday afternoon.

As for the rest of the DKI region, the BPBD through its social media page in Jakarta, Monday, July 18, reported that based on the forecasts of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the majority of the weather was sunny and cloudy since the morning.

BPBD reported that the weather has the potential to become light rain for the South Jakarta and East Jakarta areas on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, the weather in West Jakarta, Central Jakarta, North Jakarta, and the Thousand Islands Regency is expected to remain cloudy.

The weather on Monday night in DKI Jakarta is expected to be cloudy.

Furthermore, on Tuesday morning Jakarta experienced cloudy weather in the Thousand Islands, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta, while North Jakarta and Central Jakarta continued to experience cloudy sunny weather.

Meanwhile, the air temperature in DKI Jakarta is estimated to be in the range of a minimum of 24 to a maximum of 31 degrees Celsius. The humidity level is estimated to be in the minimum range of 65 to 95 percent.

DKI BPBD also reports clear cloudy weather forecasts according to the BMKG for five ports in Jakarta such as the Muara Baru Ocean Fishing Port (Penjaringan), Kaliadem Muara Angke (Penjaringan), Sunda Kelapa (Pademangan), Marunda, and Kalibaru (Cilincing), except for Tanjung Priok Port, experiencing cloudy weather.

According to the BMKG forecast, the wind blows from the northeast to the southeast at speeds between five and 15 knots in the five ports, while the wind at Tanjung Priok Port blows from the east to the south at five to 12 knots.

As for Tanjung Priok Port, the temperature range is between 26-28 degrees Celsius, humidity is 78-87 percent and the maximum visibility is seven kilometers.

While the visibility at the other five ports can reach 10 kilometers.

The wave height in the sea this morning is estimated to be between 0.5 and 1.25 meters. Except for Tanjung Priok Port, the wave height is estimated to be only 0.1-0.5 meters.

The height of the maximum tide at 22.00 western Indonesia time on Sunday (17/7) yesterday reached 1 meter. However, it receded to 0.4 meters starting Monday at 07.00 western Indonesia time.

However, water and port users are asked to remain aware of the possibility of medium-sized sea waves reaching a height of 1.25 meters to 2.5 meters in the western Java Sea and southern Karimata Strait on Monday.
