In Accordance With Jokowi's Orders, KSP Asks MSMEs To Facilitate Business Permits And Empowerment Programs

JAKARTA - Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Albertein Enang Pirade emphasized that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) directive to improve the ease of doing business or investing through Online Single Submission (OSS) has actually materialized.

This, he said, was evidenced by the achievement of the issuance of a Business Identification Number (NIB) (OSS) of 1.5 million, starting from August 2021 to July 2022.

"Of that amount, ninety-eight percent of the NIB is issued for micro and small businesses (UMK), while two percent of the NIB is for medium-sized businesses," said Albertein, Saturday, July 16.

Albertein ensured that President Jokowi's commitment to developing and raising the class of SMEs and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) did not stop at providing ease of obtaining business permits.

The President, he added, also mandated the integration of the ease of obtaining business permits with empowerment programs.

According to Albertein, for MSEs with low risk levels, NIB is a single form of licensing. That is, NIB applies as legality, Indonesian National Standard (SNI), and Halal Product Guarantee Certification (SJPH).

"NIB can also be used as collateral for People's Business Credit (KUR), and various facilities from the government related to empowerment programs," explained Albertein.

"This must be realized by SMEs and SMEs. So don't delay in managing NIB," he added.

Albertein revealed, since its launch on August 9, 2021, KSP has actively supervised the implementation of the OSS System in an integrated and coordinated manner, together with relevant ministries/agencies and local governments.

He said that in 2021 and 2022, KSP in collaboration with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing, and the Regional Government will carry out a risk-based OSS system sampling test in various cities. The sampling test was conducted to obtain input related to implementation problems.

In addition, continued Albertein, KSP together with the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy and the Ministry of Cooperatives, also oversee the distribution of KUR both in terms of regulatory enforcement and encouraging the formation of SME clusters.

"Currently KSP is also involved in the halal certification program carried out by BPJPH in 2022, related to data on MSME actors who are ready to get halal certification," he said.

Previously, in the activity of providing NIB for MSME players, Individuals, in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 13, President Jokowi emphasized the importance of business actors having an NIB to maintain business continuity.

By having an NIB, every business actor can apply for a loan or bank credit to develop his business.

On that occasion, the President also encouraged the relevant line ministries so that OSS could issue 100,000 NIB per day.

"KSP certainly participates in overseeing the acceleration of NIB ownership for UMK actors together with three relevant ministries, namely the Ministry of Investment, BUMN, and Cooperatives," said Albertein.

For information, the issuance of NIB through the Risk-Based OSS is the embodiment of the mandate of Law No. 11/2020 concerning Job Creation (UU CK), and Government Regulation (PP) No. 5/2021 concerning Implementation of Risk-Based Business Licensing.
