Remember Tommy Fury, Jake Paul Finalizes The Duel Agreement With Hasim Rahman Jr.
JAKARTA - The duel between YouTuber Jake Paul and British boxer Tommy Fury has been canceled. To that end, he is looking for another option and will fight Hasim Rahman Jr on August 6 at Madison Square Garden, New York.
Rahman Jr. is 31 years old and has a professional boxing record with 12 wins, one defeat, and six KOs. His last opponent was James McKenzie on April 29 this year, when he lost KO in the fifth round.
He is the son of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman, nicknamed 'The Rock' and who beat Lennox Lewis in 2001.
What happened to Tommy Fury?
A few weeks ago, Fury tried to fly from London to the United States, but the airline did not allow him to board the plane.
Reporting from Sportslustered, Thursday, the boxer reported that he did not know the reason why he and his team were not allowed to board the plane and enter America.
Since then, the fight plans have become tense and Paul started looking for other options until he finally found Rahman Jr. as the best chance.
So far, the YouTube star has fought in professional boxing five times. He made his debut on January 30, 2020 against Ali Eson Gib which he beat with a technical knockout in the first half.
He then beat Nate Robinson, Ben Askren. After that came the most brilliant victory for Paul when he twice defeated former UFC fighter Tyron Woodley.
In the second fight, he knocked him down in six rounds.
