Mochamad Hadiyana: KPK Supports Four WCWG G20 Priority Issues
JAKARTA - The KPK will continue to discuss four priority issues that Indonesia is promoting to eradicate corruption in the second round of the G20 Anti-Corruption Working Group (ACWG) meeting. This was confirmed by the Deputy for Information and Data of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Mochamad Hadiyana.
"In the first round, all delegates expressed their support for the four priority issues brought up by Indonesia. Furthermore, we will continue the discussion more elaboratively with the delegates in the second round," Hadiyana said in a statement received by Antara, in Jakarta, Saturday, July 2 .
The four priority issues consist of increasing the role of audit in eradicating corruption, public participation and anti-corruption education, the regulatory framework and supervision of the role of the legal profession in money laundering proceeds of corruption, and eradicating corruption in the renewable energy sector.
The second round of meetings, which will be attended by 20 delegates from G20 member countries, will be held on 5-8 July 2022 in Nusa Dua, Bali. Previously, the first round of the ACWG G20 meeting took place on 28-31 March 2022, attended by virtually all delegates.
Furthermore, Hadiyana said that the role of the corruption eradication audit would be an issue in the high level principle (HLP), namely the agreed policy document to be implemented by the G20 member countries.
"Later on, this issue will become a binding policy document and will be billed for its implementation in the future," added the Chair of the ACWG G20. Meanwhile, three other issues will be summarized or compendium.
In the second round of the ACWG G20 meeting, Hadiyana said the KPK hopes that all delegates can exchange ideas and ideas to produce discussion conclusions that are able to build efforts to improve corruption eradication at the global level.
"Hopefully, the results of the discussion will have a positive impact on efforts to prevent or eradicate corruption, both at the domestic, regional and global levels," he said.
As an enrichment for discussing priority issues in preventing and eradicating corruption, the second round of the ACWG G20 meeting will involve several other groups, such as B20, C20, T20, L20, and P20, and even international organizations that focus on anti-corruption issues.
