Joining Inter Milan On Loan, Romelu Lukaku Feels Like Returning Home
JAKARTA - Romelu Lukaku has officially returned to Inter Milan. The Belgian player said he was happy to be back in the Italian club even though he was only on loan.
Lukaku was actually part of Inter Milan last season, but he then decided to accept Chelsea's proposal. But during his time as part of the Blues, Lukaku failed to show his best performance.
Chelsea then agreed to release Lukaku back to Inter. This opportunity made Lukaku feel like coming home.
"It (returning to Inter Milan) feels like coming home. I think my family and I really had a great time in Milan, thanks to the people, Inter fans and team-mates. From the first day I arrived at Inter Milan. here, everyone helps me, I'm really happy," said Lukaku as quoted by the Daily Mail.
"I didn't even leave my house when I went to England, which shows that I'm really happy to be back here. Now, I just want to get back to seeing my team-mates on the pitch."
The former Everton player revealed that he continues to maintain a relationship with Inter Milan coach, Simone Inzaghi. The affection shown by fans and teammates is also the reason why he chose the club based at the Giuseppe Meazza.
"I kept in touch with him throughout last season. I think the coach did a good job with this team. I also want to contribute and do good things for the club," said Lukaku.
Lukaku's journey with Inter in the first period was fairly smooth. After his performance was considered to have declined at Manchester United, Lukaku could again rise to become one of the best strikers in the world with the Nerazzurri.
