Reward Sending A Healthy Touring Group, Help Overcome Stunting

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo stressed that the movement to prevent stunting must be taken seriously. This is to achieve the target of reducing stunting by 2024, while at the same time preparing the generation for 2045.

"We commemorate National Family Day with the theme from the BKKBN how we reduce stunting. Alhamdulillah yesterday we were able to reduce to 20 percent. We will move this, and today we focus on Temanggung," said Ganjar in a written statement, Thursday, June 30.

Ganjar explained, in that activity he also released the Sehati Touring motorbike group (Down with Action to Overcome Healthy and Nutritious Stunting). They are officers who go directly to the field to provide assistance to stunting targets.

“Earlier this was followed up with targets that were invaded by the team. They provide nutritious food, about 160 (packages) which we send to them,” he said.

The seriousness of preventing stunting, continued Ganjar, must also be followed by all forces to help. Such as PKK, Posyandu, to the private sector.

“This is something serious. We ask all to help, including later Babinsa and Bhabinkamtibmas we will also ask for help," explained the governor.

Ganjar also asked the community to cultivate rice complementary food crops. This needs to be done so that the community has sufficient alternative food, in the midst of a rapidly changing world.

“I also entrust people to be encouraged to plant food crops to accompany rice. So that later they have sufficient alternative food, because now the world is changing, the world is moving. The food problem has become an international issue. If we can't fulfill it, our next generation will be very dangerous," explained the PDI-P politician.

The movement to prevent stunting and plant complementary food crops can be carried out simultaneously. Food is one of the factors to prevent stunting, especially the fulfillment of nutrition.

"So we move this with food by preventing stunting, the campaign not to marry children (Jo Kawin Bocah), and don't get married early. Before getting married, check first, check if you are pregnant. Hopefully we can overcome the stunting," he said.

Head of the Central Java BKKBN Representative, Widwiono, said the decline in stunting in Central Java had a good trend. During the last two years, the decline in stunting in Central Java reached around 24 percent, while the national rate was 27.6 percent.

"This year it is around 20.9 percent for Central Java. We are deploying 27,931 teams who will work together to accelerate stunting reduction. We in Central Java can realize it within two years. This means that by 2023 stunting can fall faster than the national target," he said.
