After Comments On Kung Fu Fight In Nusantara Trofeo Match With Ronaldinho, Club Ivory Marten Persik Kediri Returns Trophy
JAKARTA - The management of Persik Kediri has taken firm steps regarding comments made by one of Rans Nusantara FC officials regarding the Trofeo Nusantara match with Ronaldinho. The club led by Gading Marten decided to return the championship trophy to the organizers.
Persik Kediri did not accept the comment "kung fu fight" made by one of the top Rans officials. In their official statement, the White Tiger management said it was a one-sided opinion.
"The statement that the Persik Kediri team played hard and was rude which is analogous to "Kungfu Fighting" is a one-sided opinion without looking at the statistics and actual events on the gridiron," Persik's official statement posted on their Instagram account.
Persik added, based on the match report issued by the referee, they admitted that they did not get a yellow card or red card in the first match against Rans and in the second match against Arema FC.
"In addition, specifically in the first match where Ronaldinho also played, out of a total of 12 violations, Persik Kediri were only recorded to have committed 4 violations, while 8 other violations were committed by Rans Nusantara," the statement continued.
According to Persik Kediri, the statement "Kung Fu Fight" has been refuted by itself. The White Tiger club management emphasized that they always prioritize sportsmanship and fair play when playing in any competition.
Persik also revealed that his players have given respect and opportunity to Ronaldinho to show his skills without putting any pressure on him. In fact, continued Persik, Ronaldinho did not do much entertainment because he didn't get enough bait.
"Statistics show that the supply of bait to Ronaldinho is also very minimal. There were two moments where Ronaldinho was in a free position, but was not given a pass," wrote the club.
"Therefore, firmly and consciously, we return the Trofeo Nusantara with Ronaldinho trophy to the organizers to be used as well as possible," concluded Persik Kediri's statement.
