After Jakarta, Now It's Surabaya's Turn To Close All Holywings

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi ensured that all Holywings nightclubs in his jurisdiction were also closed as a result of the promotion of liquor containing SARA that took place in Jakarta.

"We have closed the matter of Holywings. We have told it to be closed until the case is followed up," said Mayor Eri in Surabaya, Tuesday, June 28.

According to Eri, this is in accordance with what was conveyed by the Surabaya Ansor Youth Movement.

"We agreed with the Surabaya Police Chief to close it first," said Eri as quoted by Antara.

It is known that the South Jakarta Metro Police on Friday (24/6) named six people as suspects in cases related to ethnic, religious, racial and intergroup (SARA) related to a poster promoting free liquor for the owner of the name "Muhammad and Maria" by an entertainment label owner. at Jakarta Holywings. This promotion applies to all Holywings in Indonesia.

Eri explained that the promotion of SARA that was carried out by Holywings Jakarta had made people noisy because they used religious identity. So the closure is believed to be able to keep the situation in the city of Surabaya cooler.

"For that, we will temporarily close it while the process is running," said Eri.

Although the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has revoked all Holywings operational permits, for Surabaya there is no definite plan to do the same.

"The permit is not revoked but frozen. Frozen means that it is stopped, it can't be opened until the case is finished. This is to defuse everything. If this is what the follow-up is like, then we will do it on an ongoing basis, what action must be taken," said Eri.
