Thieves In Lampung Tenteng Senpi Assemblies Wanted To Find Victims, Were Immediately Thwarted By The Police Who Were On Patrol
BANDARLAMPUNG - The City Resort Police (Polresta) of Bandarlampung has arrested a suspected motor vehicle thief or mugger who was carrying a homemade firearm when he was about to act in the local city.
"The arrest was made by us who were carrying out a patrol, after seeing a vehicle not wearing a police member number, we immediately chased after it because it showed suspicious movements," said Head of the Bandarlampung Police Headquarters AKP M. Rohmawan when asked for information in Bandarlampung, Antara, Monday, June 27.
From the suspected robber, his party secured evidence in the form of a homemade firearm along with several live bullets, a Honda Beat motorcycle without a black and red police number, seven units of letter T keys, and one L key.
He said that the suspected robber was a resident of the Haji Calling Village with the initials SF (22).
The alleged perpetrator of the SF theft was arrested after he and a colleague fell from a motorcycle during a chase with police officers. However, one of the perpetrators who was in charge of carrying the vehicle immediately fled by running towards the residential area and fled.
"It is strongly suspected that the two perpetrators were just about to steal a motorbike, by hunting in the middle of housing residents in the local area. From public information, it was seen that they had traveled around the area," he said.
After the perpetrator was caught, SF was immediately taken to the Bandarlampung Police Headquarters and handed over to the Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) for further investigation.
"These two perpetrators are suspected to be a gang of robberies, often acting in the jurisdiction of Bandar Lampung City. The motorbike brought by the perpetrator is also suspected to be stolen, because the contact of the motorbike seems to have been damaged," he said.
He also appealed to the public to be more careful and increase vigilance when parking their respective vehicles. The good thing is, the vehicle is also installed with a double lock and does not go unnoticed.
"You have to be careful! Crimes usually occur because there is an opportunity and intention from the perpetrator, the community is expected to be able to protect themselves," added Kasatlantas.
