Sri Mulyani Remembers BJ Habibie: Inspiration For All Husbands Who Love Their Wives
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani to former Vice President Boediono shared his memories with BJ Habibie at the event Commemorating the 1,000th day of the death of the 3rd president of Indonesia.
Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said, Habibie was a very extraordinary figure for the Indonesian nation and a technologist who had international achievements and reputation.
"He also has extraordinary achievements in the field of N250 invention and aviation technology, but he was asked to return home to build Indonesia, he went home," said Sri Mulyani at the National Library Building (Pperpusnas) Jakarta, Saturday, June 25, quoted from Antara.
BJ Habibie's persona is a role model for all of us in terms of loving his wife, a good father and very religious until the end of his life.
"Pak Habibie is also an extraordinary persona to Ainun's mother, it also inspires us all to be a husband who loves his wife, a father to his children and a very religious person," he said.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Boediono said Habibie was a national figure who was able to revive the country's economy during the reform era.
When he served as Habibie's 3rd President, he was able to generate a gross domestic product that was initially minus into a post-reform surplus.
"During the brief period of the development reform cabinet, the Indonesian economy began to rise. The economy that was originally in free fall could be put on hold and reversed. If in 1998 Indonesia's domestic product shrank minus 13 percent, in 1999 it could grow again by plus 0.8 percent. ," he said.
The Deputy Speaker of the DPR Rahmat Gobel also conveyed the same thing, in advancing Indonesia, Habibie has the principle that the quality of human resources and education is a very important way to get there.
"In advancing Indonesia, for Mr. Habibie, the function is the quality of human resources. Indeed, this is very important in the industry, before making quality products is to build quality human resources," he said.
The launch of the book "BJ Habibie in Memories" was also attended by other officials and former officials, including the former Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare who is also the former General Chair of the Golkar Party Aburizal Bakrie, former Speaker of the DPR Akbar Tandjung, former Coordinating Minister for the Economy who also the former chairman of PAN Hatta Rajasa.
At the end of the event, science and technology activists will visit the graves of BJ Habibie and Mrs. Ainun Habibie at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, Jakarta.
