Masinton Pasaribu Rebuked For Alluding To Hasto's Statement To Close The PDIP-Democratic Coalition
JAKARTA - Member of the DPR from the PDI-P faction, Masinton Pasaribu, received a warning for giving a different statement on the party's stance that closed the coalition with the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the Democratic Party.
PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto said after Masinton's statement, the PDIP Party Honorary Body immediately moved to give a warning. He said this was not the first reprimand for his cadre.
"I have coordinated with the honorary body and previously Mr. Masinton had received a verbal warning and now he will be given another warning in accordance with the party's articles of association," Hasto told reporters at the JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, Saturday, June 25.
Hasto reminded that every party cadre bearing the white muzzle of the bull must speak according to its scope and in accordance with the party's attitude.
Hasto reiterated that it is difficult for his party to cooperate with PKS and Democrats. This decision was taken due to the conditions of the two parties.
"We respect the position of PKS, which is outside the government. But to cooperate with PKS, from an ideological perspective, there are things that are different from the historical aspect," he said.
"Meanwhile, with the Democrats, it is not only related to historical aspects, we can carry out a process of rationalizing the past by looking at the interests of the future," added Hasto.
Masinton stated that Hasto's statement that PDIP closed the coalition with PKS-Democrats was a personal opinion.
"What the Secretary General said personally, of course he said it was a grassroots phenomenon," he said at the DPR RI, Senayan, Friday, June 24.
Masinton said that the criteria for parties that could form a coalition with his party were those who put forward the national aspect and did not use sectarian issues and primordialism.
