KPK Immediately Announces Suspect In Alleged Corruption Case Of PT Pertamina LNG Purchase

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will soon announce the suspects in the alleged corruption case in the purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from PT Pertamina (Persero). This announcement was made after the case was raised to the level of investigation.

"The announcements of the parties who have been named as suspects, the chronology of the alleged acts of corruption committed and the articles that are suspected will be conveyed when attempts are made to force arrests and detentions," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Sector Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, June 23. .

Ali said that the alleged corruption that occurred around 2011-2021 was investigated after finding evidence. Even so, the process of proving this impudent practice continues.

A number of witnesses, continued Ali, will soon be summoned to strengthen the evidence that the KPK already has. They were asked to cooperate.

"The collection of evidence by the investigative team continues to be carried out by scheduling the summoning of witnesses to make clear the alleged corruption," he said.

The public is asked to be patient and continue to monitor the process of handling the alleged corruption.

"Any developments from this investigation, we will always convey," said Ali.

As previously reported, the investigation into the alleged corruption in the purchase of LNG from PT Pertamina was initially carried out by the Attorney General's Office. However, this case was recently handed over to the KPK.

The handover was carried out because from the results of coordination, it was known that the KPK was also investigating the corruption case. The investigation into the alleged corruption has been carried out by the Attorney General's Office since March 22, 2021.

For information, last February, the President Director of PT Pertamina, Nicke Widyawati, in a hearing (RDP) with Commission VII DPR, said that he would review the plan to purchase LNG from Mozambique LNG1 Company Pte Ltd for 1 million tons of LNG per year (MTPA) or around 17 million tons. cargo per year starting late 2024 or early 2025 over a 20 year period.
