Spokesperson For Yenny Wahid: In The 2024 Presidential Election, Gus Dur's Family Is Not In Muhaimin's Carriage
JAKARTA - The family of the 4th President Abdurrachman Wahid or Gus Dur confirmed that they would not share the same carriage with Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu), especially the presidential election (Pilpres). This assertion was conveyed by a spokesman for Yenny Wahid, who is Gus Dur's son, Imron Rosyadi Hamid.
Imron spoke up after Cak Imin attacked Yenny Wahid through his Twitter account, @cakimiNOW today, Thursday, June 23. Cak Imin said Yenny Wahid was not part of the National Awakening Party (PKB).
"Mbak Yenny's statement about Muhaimin's PKB and Gus Dur's PKB is an effort to provide understanding to the public, especially regarding the 2024 presidential election. That Gus Dur's family is not in Muhaimin's carriage until now," Imron told reporters in a written statement, Thursday, June 23.
Imron also said that Cak Imin's statement so that Yenny would not interfere with the PKB management was considered a misunderstanding. After all, so far, Cak Imin has often exploited Gus Dur's name.
In fact, Cak Imin had snatched the PKB from Gus Dur, who was his own uncle at the Court.
"So far, Muhaimin Iskandar's PKB has continued to exploit Gus Dur's name or image even though Gus Dur is an uncle whom he legally fought in court," he said.
It didn't stop there, Imron also reminded that PKB Cak Imin had experienced a decline in votes in 2009. The current PKB vote of 9.69 percent cannot exceed the percentage of PKB's acquisition in the 1999 General Election which reached 12.62 percent.
"Comparing the figure of 13.57 million votes in 2019 with 13.2 million votes in the previous two decades (1999) becomes irrelevant and manipulative because the variable increase in Indonesia's population seems not to be taken into account," said Imron.
He also responded to Cak Imin's satire against Yenny who was deemed to have failed to establish a party. Imron said that the failure was not only a matter of technical verification but was due to the failure of several parties.
"I believe that Cak Imin will not be able to form a party because the current PKB was successfully established in 1998 using the NU network under Gus Dur's leadership," he concluded.
