Deputy Minister Of Trade Jerry Calls Real Field Conditions A Consideration In Policy Making
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag) Jerry Sambuaga ensures that his ministry always monitors real conditions on the ground.
This is part of the input in formulating a policy related to basic commodities.
"The Minister of Trade and I visit the market every day to get a real, direct picture as input," said Jerry as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, June 21.
According to him, market operations are part of ensuring supply availability and price stability.
He said, from the real picture on the ground, everything that is not in accordance with government regulations, the price can be evaluated immediately.
The Vice Minister of Trade appreciated the controlled price of packaged and bulk cooking oil at the Bulu Market in Semarang, Central Java.
From the traders' information, he continued, the price of bulk cooking oil was below the price set by the government.
In the future, the Vice Minister of Trade hopes that the price of cooking oil will remain appropriate and the stock availability in the market will be safe.
"Earlier, someone sold Rp 15,000 per kilogram, cheaper than the price determined by the government, Rp 15,500 per kilogram. A condition for which we must be grateful," said Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga.
