Conflict That Caused Dozens Of People Injured In Kampar Resolved By Customary Institutions
KAMPAR - The conflict between the Iyo Basamo Cooperation of the Yuslianti camp and the Hermayalis camp in Kampar Regency, Riau was finally resolved with the signing of a joint agreement mediated by the Chairman of the Kampar Customary Institution Yusri, Monday, June 20, afternoon.
The conflict which ended in a fight that resulted in dozens of people being injured and 17 men being arrested by the police occurred on Sunday, June 19 afternoon, in Terentang Village.
The mediation was attended by Kampar Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Rido Purba, Head of Kesbangpol Mahadi, and Ninik Mamak Kenegerian Terentang, Kampa, and Tambang which was held at the Kampar Customary Hall.
During the mediation, Yusri deeply regretted the conflict that occurred, considering that this was very detrimental to the community in Terentang Village and Tambang District.
The existence of this conflict prompted the Regent of Kampar Kamsol together with forkopimda to hold a limited meeting which finally asked the Chairperson of the Kampar Customary Institution to resolve the issue by mediating.
He explained that this conflict had actually been going on for 15 years, and today the local government has put the "tali bapilin tigo" into operation by leaving the matter to the adat datuk because this is an adat issue.
"In our opinion, this is a very extraordinary customary award, and today we have sat together with the ninik mamak of Kenegerian Kampa, Terentang, and Tambang with the Iyo Basamo Cooperative for the Hermayalis and Yuslianti camps," he said, quoted by Antara.
There were four points agreed upon by the two warring parties in the peace letter.
The first point, the parties agreed to end the Iyo Basamo Cooperative conflict peacefully and would not accommodate any party.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
Second, ask both parties, both Hermayalis and Yuslianti, to immediately vacate the oil palm plantations.
Third, the management of the cooperative was temporarily suspended and operations were taken over by PTPN V until new management of the cooperative was formed.
Fourth, ask the top management of Mining, Terentang, and Kampa to mediate all problems in the field.
Yusri said that the agreement was very perfect to be agreed upon.
"If this agreement has been complied with by both parties, then God willing, there will be no more problems that will lead to conflict," he said.
Yusri will report to the local government, and forkopimda regarding the results of this mediation, and those who violate will of course face the law.
"We don't want any more fights in the field since this letter was signed, and this is the last meeting, so we hope that it will be obeyed," he said.
Kampar Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant Rido Purba said that the state recognized customary law and for the land conflict issue, his party handed it over to LAK.
However, regarding the actions of individuals during the conflict, many of the perpetrators were drunk, had no identity whatsoever, most of whom had been arrested.
"I don't want tyranny on the ground, let's let each other down, if it's not right, please leave it," he also said.
