Police Preparation To Move Offices At IKN: Formation Of Polsek And Polres Is Being Proposed
JAKARTA - The Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said the National Police are preparing themselves gradually starting in 2024 to have an office in the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.
"Next year (2023) we have to prepare because in 2024 it is hoped that the National Police will gradually start having offices at IKN," said Dedi quoting Antara, Sunday, June 19.
Dedi explained that the preparations had begun this year so that everything needed for the transfer had been proposed, including the establishment of the sector police (polsek) and resort police (polres) at IKN.
"Yes, the concept of forming a special IKN police station is being proposed," said Dedi.
In addition to the Polsek and Polres, IKN is strengthened by the Mobile Brigade Corps, whose development and strengthening has been confirmed by the National Police Chief, Gen. Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Saturday (18/6).
Later the Brimob Corps at IKN will be led by a one-star general (brigjen) in order to strengthen IKN.
"One of the Brimob organizations is placed in IKN. Later it will be led by a one-star high-ranking officer in order to secure the strengthening of IKN so that it really fits the timeline set by the government," said Dedi.
Previously, East Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Pol. Imam Sugianto, Saturday, June 18, said that the National Police would increase the security forces at IKN.
In addition, he said, there was the development of the Mobile Brigade Unit (Brimob), a special police unit with various tasks. Not far from IKN in Tenggarong, a Pioneer Battalion will be placed to anticipate various possible security disturbances.
According to Imam, the addition of strength is based on a detailed study of various aspects regarding the security and security of IKN.
Currently the IKN area is still under the jurisdiction or authority of the Semoi and Sepaku Police under the North Penajam Paser Police.
Resort Police or Polres are police work units or units within the jurisdiction of one city or one district. The commander is a career police officer with the rank of Adjunct Commissioner of Police (AKBP). If the population of the district or city reaches 1 million people or more, the position of head of the police station (kapolres) is assigned to a police commissioner (kombes).
The sector police is a unit under the police station, in the area of one sub-district, and is led by an adjunct police commissioner (AKP). a police commissar (kompol) to balance the rank of Polis Ruler Perwira Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDM) who became a partner in maintaining security and order on the Malaysian side.
Apart from the police, currently the IKN area is actively patrolling a team of 12 TNI personnel from Kodam VI Mulawarman. The number of personnel, said Pangdam VI Mulawarman Major General Teguh Rumekso on a separate occasion, could be increased to one platoon as needed.
