KPU Surabaya Socializes The Stages And Schedule Of The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - The General Election Commission (KPU) of Surabaya City has started to socialize the stages and schedule of the 2024 General Election to the public in the City of Heroes, East Java.

Surabaya City KPU member Naafilah Astri in Surabaya, Saturday, said that the socialization was a follow-up to the RI KPU which had launched the 2024 Election Stages on June 14, 2022.

"Tuesday night, we together with forkopimda and stakeholders also launched the election stages at the Surabaya City KPU Office," he said.

The stages and schedule for organizing the stages of the 2024 legislative and presidential elections based on KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2022 include planning programs and budgets as well as drafting regulations for implementing elections on June 14-14, 2023.

In addition, updating voter data and compiling voter lists on October 14, 2022—June 21, 2023, registration and verification of election participants on July 29, 2022—December 13, 2022, determination of election participants on December 14, 2022.

Determination of the number of seats and determination of electoral districts on October 14, 2022—February 9, 2023, nominations for the president and vice president as well as members of the DPR, DPD, Provincial DPRD, and Regency/Municipal DPRD on 6 December 2022—25 November 2023.

Campaign period on 28 November 2023-10 February 2024, quiet period on 11-13 February 2024, voting on 14 February 2024, vote counting on 14-15 February 2024, recapitulation of vote counting results on 15 February 2024— March 20, 2024.

Furthermore, the determination of the pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates as well as the determination of the acquisition of seats and the elected candidates for members of the DPR, Provincial DPRD, Regency/Municipal DPRD, and DPD no later than 3 days after the KPU has received a notification letter from the Constitutional Court (MK) regarding the list of applications for dispute over election results.

"In general, we are ready. In fact, we have been preparing for a long time, including strengthening human resource capacity," said Naafilah.
