Gerindra Has No Burden Of Coalition With Any Party
JAKARTA - It is suspected that the Gerindra Party will form a coalition with the National Awakening Party (PKB) after its party elites made a joint pilgrimage to the grave of Mustasyar PBNU KH Dimyati Rois or Mbah Dim in Kendal, Central Java. Gerindra was also previously predicted to form a coalition with the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).
It is believed that Gerindra will not form a coalition with the NasDem Party because the party created by Surya Paloh did not recommend the name of its general chairman, Prabowo Subianto, as a presidential candidate for 2024.
In response, the Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Ahmad Muzani, said that his party had no burden to form a coalition with other political parties. No exception, with political parties that have determined their presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election.
"The direction of 2024 until now, Gerindra feels that it does not have the burden and problem to form a coalition with any party. Is it the party that has determined its presidential candidate or the party that has not yet determined its presidential candidate," said Muzani at the DPR building, Friday, June 17.
Therefore, Muzani emphasized that the Gerindra Party still does not want to decide early with whom it will form a coalition in the 2024 presidential election. However, he said, political communication with other political parties will continue.
"Until now Gerindra has not decided with whom we will form a coalition. But we maintain good relations with all parties, we continue to communicate with all political party leaders," he said.
Previously, the Gerindra Party hoped that its political relationship with the PDIP would continue to improve in line with the discourse on the coalition in the 2024 presidential election. Muzani, said that the relationship and communication between the General Chairperson of the Gerindra DPP Prabowo Subianto and the PDIP DPP Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri had been very good so far.
"Hopefully this relationship will continue to improve and get better," said Muzani, Wednesday, June 15.
