Abrasion Of Amurang Beach, North Sulawesi, 15 Houses Collapsed And 1 Bridge Collapsed
MINAHASA - Abrasion hit the coast in Amurang, South Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi), Wednesday afternoon, June 15. As a result, 15 houses, a bridge unit, and an inn building collapsed.
"This incident occurred at 14.00 WITA," said the Head of the South Minahasa BPBD, Thorie R Joseph accompanied by the Head of Emergency, Merry Rumerung in Manado, quoted from Antara, Wednesday 15 June.
The coastal abrasion disaster occurred in Bitung Village and Uwuran Satu Village, Amurang District.
He said the beach abrasion caused the bridge and Boulevard road as well as the coastal safety wall along with several residents' houses to collapse because of the waves of the sea.
"When the BPBD received the information, they immediately went to the scene of the incident," he said.
Furthermore, the temporary BPBD rapid reaction team conducted a rapid assessment, while the South Minahasa Regency Government visited the scene.
"Sekda and several heads of services as well as heads of related agencies have seen firsthand the impact of the abrasion," he added.
The beach abrasion did not cause any casualties or injuries.
The report on the incident, he said, had been submitted to the Head of BNPB, Governor of North Sulawesi, Irtama BNPB, Regent of South Minahasa, Head of BPBD Executive of North Sulawesi Province.
