BOYOLALI - The Boyolali Police, Central Java, dismantled a gang of motor vehicle thieves operating in a number of areas by arresting two suspects.
The two arrested perpetrators were Heri Sukmono (24), a resident of Jambu Kulon Village, Ceper District, Klaten, and Abdul Holiq alias Kolik (41), a resident of Patimban Village, Pusakanagara District, Subang, West Java.
"Both of them are currently being held at the Boyolali Police Headquarters to undergo a legal process," said Boyolali Police Chief AKBP Asep Mauludin at a press conference at Boyolali Police Headquarters, Antara, Wednesday, June 15.
According to the Police Chief, Heri is a specialist in stealing motorbikes in the mosque parking lot. In his operation, he used the key of T. Heri was arrested in Klaten, while Abdul Holiq was arrested in Magelang on Monday, June 13.
The police chief explained that another perpetrator, Suyadi alias Bajing (45), a resident of Srimartani Village, Piyungan District, Bantul, Yogyakarta, was the mastermind behind the motorcycle theft that took place in Boyolali and Sukoharjo areas. It is known that Suyadi is currently undergoing legal proceedings at the Sukoharjo Police Headquarters.
In addition to the two perpetrators, according to the Police Chief, there are a number of other suspects who are being handled at other police stations, namely Tarlim (38), a resident of Cibereng, Terisi District, Indramayu, West Java, and Zainudin Arip (44), a resident of Palembon, Pedurungan, Semarang City. legal process at Polrestabes Semarang.
"Another person, Atok (42), a resident of Bongas, Kandanghaur, Indramayu, West Java, and Mulyadi alias Wowo (40), a resident of Arahan, Indramayu, are now on the officers' wanted list (DPO)," said the police chief.
Abdul Holiq alias Kolik is a specialist pickup truck thief. The theft of the pickup was carried out across provinces because they moved from target locations.
The suspects operate in the areas of Sukoharjo, Bantul, Wonogiri, and Boyolali. The perpetrators targeted motorized vehicles in mosques. Perpetrators take advantage of careless people.
The two suspects will be charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning the Crime of Theft with Weights with a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison.
