2 Children Buried In Landslide In Manggarai NTT Taken To Ruteng Hospital
NTT - Landslide disaster in Dintor Village, West Satarmese Subdistrict, Manggarai, caused fatalities and injuries. The victims were evacuated by the Manggarai Regency Government to the Regional General Hospital dr. Ben Mboi in Ruteng.
Head of the Protocol and Communications Section of the Manggarai Regency Secretariat, Paulus Jeramun, said that the evacuation would allow those who were injured to receive immediate medical treatment at the hospital.
"Several victims of the disaster who were injured in Dintor Village today were evacuated to Ruteng so they can receive medical treatment," Paulus said when contacted from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT), Monday 13 June.
He said the victims who suffered injuries included two children who were buried by a landslide when the natural disaster occurred on Sunday, June 12, early in the morning.
The evacuation process for the victims of natural disasters was carried out by an evacuation team from BPBD and health workers from the Manggarai District Health Office.
He explained that according to the temporary data carried out by the BPBD, there were 76 residents who were affected by the landslide in Dintor Village, West Satarmese District.
In that incident 17 residents' houses and a mosque were damaged by a landslide that occurred when the area was hit by heavy rains.
"In that incident there were two children who were buried by a landslide but both managed to survive after being pulled out by the mother of the two victims when the incident occurred and assisted by a number of residents to a safer place," said Paulus.
This natural disaster occurred on Sunday, June 12, early in the morning, at 02.30 WITA, due to three days of heavy rain. Landslides occurred and hit a number of residents who were located on the edge of the cliff.
