Extend Bad Record Meeting With Rivon/Pitha, Praveen/Melati Failed To Quarter Final Indonesia Masters 2022
JAKARTA - Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti mixed doubles failed to reach the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2022.
The All England 2020 champions were stopped in the second round of the BWF Super 500 after suffering 16-21 and 16-21 defeats to their compatriots Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari in Istora, Jakarta, Thursday, June 9.
This defeat extends the bad record of Praveen/Melati with their partner. Previously, Praveen/Melati had also given up in straight sets when they met in the last 32 of the Malaysia Open 2019.
Rivon/Pitha will next meet Thailand's mixed doubles Supak Jomkoh/Supissara Paewsampran.
The duel of Rinov/Pitha and Praveen/Jordan became the second duel between Indonesian representatives in the round of 16 of this year's Indonesia Masters.

Previously, the meeting between Indonesians took place in the men's doubles between Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan. Fajar/Rian won the duel.
Apart from Rinov/Pitha, the seventh-seeded women's doubles pair, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, also got tickets for the last eight, who got rid of the Malaysian representative, Vivian Hoo/Lim Chiew Sien.
Apriyani/Fadia, who are the owners of the Hanoi SEA Games gold medal, will next face the second seed from Korea, Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan.
