The Third Day Of The Search Operation For 2 Crew Members KM Putra Masbuar, The Ambon SAR Team Brings The Victim's Family To Explore Babar Island
AMBON - The state ship Abhimanyu used by the SAR team from Basarnas Ambon focused on searching the waters of Babar Island, Southwest Maluku Regency for two crew members KM Putra Masbuar who were reported missing since May 29, 2022.
"The third day of SAR operations continued using KN Abimanyu which departed from Ambon to MBD Regency and required a journey time of about 13 hours," said Head of the Ambon Basarnas Search and Rescue Office Mustari in Ambon, Antara, Wednesday, June 8.
The fate of the two crew members of KM Putra Masbuar whose fate is not yet known are Yusuf I dreamia (60) and Yustus Okmemera, while one crew member who survived is Ari Onareli.
According to him, the SAR ship carrying 12 people including two members of the victim's family headed to MBD waters to carry out SAR operations at coordinates 9° 23' 5" S - 125° 44' 12" E and 6° 13' 38" S - 129° 2' 3" EE.
KM. Putra Masbuar is a wooden ship with a length of about 12 meters and a width of 3 meters known to be missing on May 29, 2022.
They departed from Lurang Island to Babar Island, MBD Regency to sell the wood. However, the motorboat, which was manned by three people, ran out of fuel and was swept away by the current.
"Only on June 4, 2022 at around 23:00 WIT the ship was still drifting, and Yusuf Impia as the captain ordered Ari Onarely (ABK) to get off in a canoe to ask for help to Rotnama Village, Pulau Sermata," explained Mustari.
Six hours of rowing the canoe, Ari Onarely arrived on Sermatang Island in a weak condition but fortunately the community immediately found the victim and received information regarding KM Putra Masbuar.
However, when the community assistance arrived, KM Putra Masbuar was no longer there.
Since receiving this information on June 6, the Ambon Basarnas immediately moved to record it to all Coastal Radio Stations (SROP) to inform ships passing through the incident area if they found the motorboat to provide assistance.
