Ridwan Kamil Promises To Build Bridge Collapsed Due To Ciwidey Flash Flood
BANDUNG - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil promised his party would rebuild the residents' access bridge that collapsed due to flash floods in the Ciwidey River, Bandung Regency, West Java.
According to him, the bridge is a necessity for community mobility and is often passed by children to go to school.
"It's a damaged cliff, it has the potential to endanger residents, we will temporarily close it with gabions. We'll fix it later, only the third stage will the bridge be rebuilt," said Ridwan Kamil at the flash flood location reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 8.
If it is damaged, according to him, children who go to school have to turn further to be able to go to school. In this development, his party will coordinate with the Citarum River Basin Center (BBWS).
"I apologize to the residents, especially children who are in school, having to make a further round, but wait for the time, the state will repair the traffic lanes," he said.
In West Java, according to him, the disasters that occur are often related to water or hydro-meteorological disasters. For flat plains, he said, the disasters that occur are flood inundation, but for sloping plains, the disasters that often occur are landslides to flash floods.
"The first key is to be vigilant, the second key is if you can stay away from sources of disaster, so the buildings must be introspective, preferably moving from the banks that are too attached to the water," he said.
There is also a bridge that flows along the Ciwidey River, precisely in Tenjolaya Village, Pasirjambu District, Bandung Regency, West Java, it collapsed due to the flash flood that occurred on Monday (6/6).
The incident occurred at around 3.30 pm when heavy rains hit the area. The heavy rain caused the flow of water in the Ciwidey River to become heavy, causing flash floods that eroded the riverbanks.
